Out of the mouth of the Carter boys...

Landon saw the very first pictures of Lillian at the hospital on Steve's cell phone. He looked at the pictures and asked, "Dad, is Lillian a little bit China-ish?". Apparently her darker skin and swollen eyes were strange to him. Laughed a long time after that one.

Cohen: When we were talking about how dark Lillians skin was he commented, "At least she'll be really fast!". Ok, seriously...laughed SO hard when he said that!

Greyson: Ball? Yes? Inside? Yes? (nodding head emphatically) Phone down. Lily map, mom. Catch. Yes? (nodding again)
Grey is so cute when he asks and answers he own questions. The other day he wanted me to play catch with him(with an outside ball, hence the inside question) but I was holding Lily in one hand and my phone in the other. He was so funny putting all his wants into one big conversation with me. A very one-sided one, but a great conversation none the less.

Easter Outfits

Trying to get a picture of everyone in their Easter outfits was quite comical.  The boys were ok.  There were 2 good pictures of the three of them out of maybe 50 we took.  Grey is in this silly stage where he "smiles" and he pretty much looks like a pirate.  So getting him to NOT smile and get the older boys TO smile and get everyone to look at the camera...funny stuff!  Then throw a new baby and parents in, just forget it.  But I will say, I loved the kids outfits and loved tying the boys pink ties in with Lillian's pink dress. It was a great day other than Grey waking up with a cold.  I will post the egg hunt pictures later, but wanted to get these up.
I never got Lillian up close in her outfit.  We were late to church and so we snapped a few quick ones before church thank goodness, because by the time we got home, Lillian had a total blowout all over her dress and Landon had strawberries on his shirt.

1 month...almost

Can't believe this little sweetie is a month old tomorrow.  She is getting so big.  She is such a peaceful, calm baby and she still sleeps a ton.  Night is hit or miss depending on if I can keep her awake for a while before she gets into that deep night sleep.  She can go 5 hours at night if I keep her up til 11!  She still rarely cries and gives out an occasional smile.  Twice I swear she knew I was talking to her and she got the biggest smiles.  We are loving every second with her.

Lillian's blessing day

Sunday, April 17th, we blessed Lillian at church.  We are in the Alamo 1st ward and for her blessing we just had family do it this time.  For every other baby blessing we had friends or members of the bishopric stand in the circle, but this time it was just Steve, his dad and his brother Jim.  It was a beautiful day and she was so amazing for the blessing.  The things that Steve said were so amazing and it was definitely a perfect day.  She was so peaceful and calm for the whole thing and she looked beautiful in her white dress.  I am grateful for a husband who is worthy to hold the priesthood and for his family who does as well.  He is an amazing man and I am eager for her to read some of the things I wrote down from her blessing someday.  She is such a sweet little addition to our family and we all feel lucky to have her.

Big Girl Bath

It's been a while since she was able to have a bath in the big tub, but it took me a while to capture the moment.  I think she is about 3 weeks here.  She doesn't like getting undressed and isn't sure for the first second or two, but she really loves her bath.  She loves this time of night and if I could figure out how to get her to stay awake from 9-10, she would do amazing, but she seems to be wanting to fall asleep earlier, which means I am up with her more at night.  If she goes down around 10:30-11, she will sleep 4-5 hours.  We are working on figuring things our, but she is an angel.

Greyson is 2!

It is so hard to believe my amazing little boy is 2!  He has been a blessing in our life since day one.  He can rarely be found without a smile on his face (except when he is having an occasional temper tantrum), and he is so fun to be around.  For his birthday we kept things simple.  Papa Carter was in town and we picked up a Roundtable pizza, we opened gifts and had as he ordered "2 cakes!"  He loved opening gifts which included, an Iron Man toy and car, Gator Golf game, a Hot Wheels ramp, a big bouncy ball, a few other balls and the hi-light of the night a gummy "sucka".  Grey didn't even like his cakes, which for a whole week whenever you asked him what he wanted for his birthday he would say "2 cakes, 2 cakes".  We would ask what toys he wanted and all he would say was 2 cakes.  It was so cute.  When he took his first bite he shook his head and said "Ewww, gross!".  He did love his birthday sucka and now when you ask him what he got for his birthday he says, "2 cakes, Iron man and a sucka!"
Some things I want to remember about this little cutie at age 2:
Height: 38"
Weight: 33 lbs.
Sleep: 1 nap about 2 hours, and night he sleeps from 7:30-7:30
Food: likes cereal, waffles, yogurt, most fruit, plain noodles, pizza crust
Dislikes everything else.  He is really hard to feed, but he LOVES treats.
He has amazing hand-eye coordination.  He can throw, kick, shoot and catch with the best of them.
He can say just about anything that he hears.
He hates nursery at church.
He loves to answer his own questions.  "Can I watch a show? (nodding head) Yes? Yes?"
Doesn't know any colors yet, but I think if I tried he would.
He loves his little sister and is SO amazing with her.  He runs by and kisses her head and says "love you Lily" at the most random times.
He can sing so cute when we sing Families are Forever and I Hope they call me on a Mission.
He is great in the car and still doesn't fight me to get in his seat.
He is such a fun boy to have around and will be eternally grateful to him for being so amazing because he softened his Daddy's heart and that allowed me to have our sweet baby Lillian.

Landon's Baseball team- Go Twins!

Landon started his first real Baseball league this year.  He is playing on a single A farm team.  They start out coach pitch and finish the season with player pitch.  It is a 6 inning game that can last up to 2 hours.  They keep score and there are some really good kids.  They range in age from 7-9.  He had a great first game and even though they lost, it was a close one.  He still doesn't seem to care that much for it, but when he is on the field he seems to be having fun.

There was nowhere for the other boys to play.  There was hardly anywhere to even sit.  It will be a LONG season if we have to corral these two monkeys in a confined dirt area for 2 hours twice a week!  And that is with Lily sleeping through the whole game.

Co 's First baseball Team- Go Cardinals!

Cohen started T-ball this year.  He is loving it!  He was so cute to watch at his first game.  He had no idea what to do.  He didn't run from base to base and when he got home the first time, he stayed on home plate until someone came and helped him to the bench.  I loved watching every minute of the cute chaos.  He is so happy to be on a team and to have something special that is just for him.  I am excited to see him progress throughout the season.
Go Cardinals!!!

He is #10, squatting in the dirt!

Grey had a great time watching his brother.  He played catch with Steve and looked through Landon's book.  He is always a hoot!

Lillian's first 2 weeks

First bath...she loved her hair being washed, but wasn't sure about the rest.

She pretty much lives in the swing during the day.  I have to wake her up to feed her most of the time.
 Flowers for mommy and Lillian.

These first two weeks have gone by slowly in some ways and quick in others.  She is rarely awake and she is just SO sweet.  She rarely cries, and most often has to be woken up to do anything, even eat and be changed.  She LOVES to be close to me and often times when she is fussy, all I have to do is pick her up.  The boys are still loving her and hold her any chance they get.  Grandpa came in town and has enjoyed watching her sleep!  She did make it to both of her brothers first baseball games and was amazing at both.
She was at the Dr. today for her 2 week well check and she weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz.  They were quite impressed with her weight gain.  She was 21" long today.
She is definitely my most easy going baby and we are all loving having her around.
